  17. <p>     For the most part, the smattering of feature films that
  18. have tackled the subject of AIDS have lived all too quietly in
  19. small urban art houses. But that may soon change. The upcoming
  20. People Like Us brings the controversial cinema subject into the
  21. mainstream with an endearingly mainstream leading man. Tom Hanks
  22. will be featured in the Jonathan Demme film portraying an
  23. attorney infected with HIV. Hanks takes his high-powered firm
  24. to court when he realizes he's been fired because of his
  25. illness.
